Racanelli was awarded the Oakdale Village ABC Store on January 14, 2019. Total square footage is 7,350; 4,275 SF being designated for Sales with the balance of space being utilized for Warehouse and Office functions. This retail store is in a prominent location in Hillsborough, NC between I-85 and I-40 on a major thoroughfare.
Some of the design features of this project include transparency at the front entry with clerestory windows to incorporate natural lighting, a pronounced entry feature delineating the main entry to the sales floor, a modern look that is reminiscent of mountain architecture and a curved roof. The roof splays out on Oakdale Drive side and serves three purposes: prominent design element that highlights structural design capabilities, solar shade for the upper storefront, and weather protection for pedestrian traffic.
