Project Description
This project was a Design/Build contract for the New York State Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) – Tri-borough Bridge and Tunnel authority. The building includes offices, training facilities, locker rooms and administrative facilities. The project is considered a secure location with strict security protocols. The 14,000 square foot facility is used as a police station and bridge management facility. The scope of work included site work, demolition of existing buildings, installation of roads and parking areas and installation of underground utilities.
Racanelli Construction was the prime contractor on a publicly bid Design/Build contract. We managed a team of design specialists and construction subcontractors to bring the project in on time and with no cost growth. The increase in contract value was due to an owner-requested additional scope.
